ANNUAL REPORT 2006 Wildlife Conservation Society-Bolivia(WCS)
The Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS), founded in 1895 as the New York Zoological Society, is a global organization dedicated to wildlife conservation and ecosystem preservation. We do this through science, conservation, education, and the management of the world's largest system of zoological parks. All of these activities together change individual attitudes toward nature and help people think about sustainable interactions between wildlife and humans, both locally and globally. WCS believes in the intrinsic value of biodiversity, the integrity of life on Earth, and the importance of wildlife to the quality of human life. WCS carries out more than 60 projects in over 45 countries worldwide. The vision of the Wildlife Conservation Society's (WCS) global conservation strategy is to contribute to a world that values the diversity of life, understanding that protecting the natural world is essential to maintaining the integrity of life on Earth, and in which humans are able to build a safe and sustainable life, sharing it with other living beings. WCS's work is guided by the following principles: Go to link
